Testimonials

The fact that a person, after 10, 14 or more days, can feel so full of vitality and without having given up any of his or her normal occupations, demonstrates that the person is truly receiving all necessary nutrients. It must be understood that the importance of abstaining from solid food lies in its acting at the very root of all functional and organic pathologies. In one of his aphorisms, the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates, stated that "humeral impurity is the cause of all sicknesses." We should not be surprised then that a sufficiently prolonged fast, thanks to the syrup and lemon, achieves such extraordinary results.

By allowing the digestive and assimilatory mechanisms to rest (anabolism), the body's energy flows in a centrifugal pattern (catabolism), thus favoring the elimination of toxins and residues. Returning to Hippocrates, he says in another of his aphorisms: "In growing illness, one must stop eating. … As one continues to feed an ill body, so the illness grows. The benefits of prolonged abstention from solid food are incalculable, affecting favorably all the components that integrate the human body: the physical-energetic plane, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual." Bearing in mind the words of Hector Durville, "The intoxicated person thinks and feels through his toxins," we may understand why, after this program involving intracellular and neuronal purification, a person feels more lucid and tranquil. It is this psycho-physiological and mental equilibrium which leads to a state of natural harmony, characteristic of a perfect state of health.

- Luis Juan Mompo, naturopathic doctor, Barcelona, Spain

"I have had great satisfaction with the (Neera Detox) diet during my prolonged training sessions: weightlifting, cycling and tae-kwon-do. The diet has helped my clarity, intensity and energy."

- Javier Sanchez, tae-kwon-do instructor

"I lost 13 pounds in 10 days on the Neera Detox Diet and felt great. The first couple of days where a little tough, while my body adjusted and the toxins where stirred up. By the third day I felt fine and by the fifth day I felt full of energy and vibrant. I wasn’t hungry at all. I was surprised how good I felt. Doing the diet made me realize just how “mental” food is. It was a liberating experience.”

- Charles Witkus, San Francisco

“I did the Neera Diet every Sunday for just under two months and lost 15 pounds without changing my normal weekly diet. I noticed I felt better every Sunday evening after one day on the Neera Drink. It was a great lifestyle change that is really making me feel good.”

- Damien Sequia

"The Neera Detox Diet made me a new man. We sell it at my vegetarian restaurant, Jyoti Bihanga, and it’s really popular."

- Mahiyan Savage, San Diego

"My naturopathic doctor told me that I had a lot of toxins in my system (probably from my typical American diet). I had had acne problems for years. When I went on the Neera Detox Diet the acne got worse for the first few days but by the fourth day it started to clear and by the seventh day it was totally gone. My skin hasn’t been so clear since I was a kid. My body is toxin free! I am really happy with the results. I plan on doing this diet at least once a year.”

- Maria Garcia, Richmond, VA

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will the weight lost during the diet come back?

Most of the time the weight stays off. Unlike many other diets where the weight lost is mostly water weight, most of the weight lost during the Neera Detox Diet comes from the loss of diseased cells and fat tissue. Also, one of the great benefits of the Neera Detox Diet is that people usually kick their “bad food” addictions. As we all know, eating foods that aren’t very good for us causes most overweight conditions. “Junk foods,” processed foods, sugary foods, and high carbohydrate diets all can cause the body to gain weight as a way of storing these excess carbohydrates. A lot of these foods become addictive because they are so prevalent in our society. They load the shelves of our supermarkets and convenience stores. Studies have shown that high sugar diets and high processed-carbohydrate diets can become addictive. We literally crave sweets, and other junk food.

When we go on a cleansing diet like the Neera Detox Diet the body can overcome these addictions by giving the body a break from our normal diet. By the third or fourth day of the Neera Detox Diet most people feel really good, healthy, vibrant, and clear because their body is cleaning out all this junk in our system. Then when most people come off of the Neera Detox Diet they don’t want to go back to their old diet because they feel so good and the mere idea of eating junk food seems repulsive. Once we break these addictions the body literally tells our mind, “I don’t want this stuff in my system.”

Most people who perform the Neera Detox Diet do so as a way to start a new better diet and lifestyle. The diet cleans us out. We lose excess weight and then feel so good that we launch into a consistently better diet and lifestyle. We constantly get feedback from people who reconfirm this.

If I am underweight is it safe to do the diet?

Yes, in most cases. Many people suffer from underweight conditions because they are not getting the necessary nutrients they need from their diet or they have a toxic condition in their body that is not allowing them to absorb the necessary nutrients from the food they ingest. During the Neera Detox Diet people who are underweight will usually lose a little bit more weight, however once they come off the diet they will gain the weight right back and usually add a few more pounds to get them closer to their natural weight. This happens because during the cleansing process of the Neera Detox Diet the body will usually heal itself from the toxic condition that was preventing adequate nutrient absorption and then once the person comes off the diet their body is able to better digest and absorb nutrients and they are able to get to a more normal, healthy weight.

Do I have to drink the salt water?

No. The salt-water drink is a great laxative but many people don’t like the taste. Instead of drinking the salt-water drink you can drink a glass of mild herbal laxative tea. That is why we provide 14 tea bags of the Neera-Lax tea with each Neera Detox Package. This allows someone on a seven day cleansing program to have both a glass in the evening, as recommended, and a glass in the morning instead of the salt-water drink.

Can children perform the Neera Detox Diet?

Absolutely. Children over the age of six can go on the diet. The diet is extremely helpful for those with coughs, cold allergies, sinus problems, mucus disorders and infections – all of which are the result of toxins accumulated in the system.

Can I perform the diet if I have diabetes?

People with type 2 diabetes have successfully and safely performed the Neera Detox Diet. While the Neera Drink contains sugar from the natural tree syrups, a “no-no” for diabetics, each glass contains a fairly low amount. The idea of the diet is to drink many glasses of the Neera Drink throughout the day giving the body a steady dose of simple carbohydrate.

The great thing about the Neera Detox Diet for type 2 diabetics is that it is a great weight loss diet, which is a major factor in decreasing the effects of diabetes. Also, the cleanse that the internal organs get is great for increasing their efficiency and production.

If you have type 2 diabetes and you would like to perform the Neera Detox Diet we should recommend that you get the permission of your doctor. However, most doctors are going to be unfamiliar with a cleansing fast like the Neera Detox Diet. Type 2 diabetics who have performed the Neera Detox Diet tell us that they simply keep a close monitor of their blood sugar levels, as they normally should. Checking the levels 3-4 times a day is the safest. For more questions about type 2 diabetes and the Neera Detox Diet please contact us. (info@neeradetox.com)

Can I eat solid food during the Neera Detox Diet?

The Neera Detox Diet is a cleansing fast and works largely because the body does not have to work on digesting and eliminating solid food. Therefore we strongly recommend that you do not eat any solid food while you are on the diet. The Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup adds a simple liquid carbohydrate that will give you energy while you are on the diet. Whenever you feel hungry, drink another glass of the Neera Drink.

Can I drink anything besides the Neera Drink during the diet?

If you feel the need for variety, then once or twice a day you can drink a cup of herb tea or freshly squeezed citrus juice (orange or grapefruit). Peppermint, rosehip and chamomile teas are useful complements to the Neera Drink and make a nice contrast. Peppermint tea especially supports the cleansing process, offers relief from headaches, cleanses the palate and neutralizes any mouth or body odors that may arise. Teas and juices should only be sweetened with the Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup, if at all, and don’t use or add any dairy products.

Can I keep taking vitamins and supplements during the diet?

We recommend that you minimize the intake of vitamins and supplements during the diet. Remember, any thing that you take into your body has to be digested and eliminated. Any vitamins or supplements that you take during the diet add to the digestive load of your system, diverting some of your body’s energy from cleansing to digestion. If you are taking any vitamins or supplements on the advice of a health care practitioner for a particular ailment or deficiency then you may wish to keep taking them. However, if you are taking vitamins or supplements for just general health we recommend that you stop taking them during the diet and then resume after if you like.

Should I keep taking my medication during the diet?

If you are taking medicine prescribed by a doctor, then use common sense. Medicines will lessen the effect of the diet, but before you stop taking them you should be in agreement with your doctor. It is better to do the Neera Detox Diet while still taking medicine than not to do it all.

Can I change the mix of the Neera Drink?

If you are feeling especially hungry, are being very physically active or have a high metabolism then you may wish to add more syrup to the mix. Try adding the syrup in a 3:2 or 4:2 ration to the lemon juice. Find a mix that works for you. Some people like more syrup in the mix, some less.

How do I mix the salt-water drink?

Dissolve two teaspoons into one liter of warm water, 33.6 fluid ounces. Drink the whole thing first thing in the morning. Don’t go far away from a restroom. Within half an hour you should have a thorough bowel movement.

Can I keep training to my normal capacity during the Neera Detox Diet?

Keep training but take it easy. Athletes in training may experience a reduction in stamina and are advised to cut back 60-70% of normal training intensity for the duration of the diet.

Avoid strenuous exercise as intense exertion may encourage toxins to be reabsorbed rather than eliminated. When we engage in vigorous activity the body is forced to call upon extra reserves of energy and synthesizes energy from protein and fat. This is a demanding process distracting the body from its cleansing priorities and when compounded by the release of lactic acid from muscular activity only increases the toxic load.

Nevertheless, gentle exercise is very helpful to the cleansing process. The key is finding the right balance of activity and rest. Adequate rest is crucial during the Neera Detox Diet, while resting the body performs its vital cleansing tasks. Far from interfering with your training the Neera Detox Diet is a wise investment for any athlete. Most athletes return to full training after the diet with renewed energy and enthusiasm. You’ll find that your body performs more efficiently when it is cleansed and purified, experiencing higher energy levels and performance.
